Common Questions
-
Do I need Part A and Part B to sign up for Medicare Advantage?Yes. For a Medicare Advantage, Part C plan you must have BOTH A and B
-
Do I need Part A and Part B to sign up for a Part D prescription drug plan? No, you do NOT need BOTH, but you need one or the other. You may enroll in a drug plan if you have Part A OR Part B, but you don't need both to be eligible.
-
I delayed my Part B and I'm set to retire, what do I do now?Call us! We'll walk you through the whole process. The short answer is you'll need to apply for Part B for medical coverage, and you'll likely want to select a Medicare Advantage plan or a Medicare supplement plan. We'll walk you through the whole process from beginning to end.

I'm healthy, I don't take any prescription drugs, why should I sign up for a drug plan now?Short answer... because you'll get penalized 1% of the national average drug premium (which is generally $30 to $35 per month) for EVERY month you go without drug coverage. Long answer....It keeps compounding until you join a Part D prescription drug plan. You won't pay the penalty until you finally do sign up for a drug plan, but you don't want to be paying another $35 per month in penalties (on top of the cost of a drug plan) 8 years from now when you finally need to join a Part D plan to cover your prescriptions after years without needing any meds. It's also worth noting that you can find Medicare Advantage plans that include Part D for $0 in monthly premium. It's ideal for people who don't need a lot of coverage but don't want to incur penalties.

What healthcare organization should I choose? That is a decision that depends heavily on a client's goals and expectations of a health plan. Are you looking for the most possible benefit for the least premium? Do you want flexibility to be a snowbird and relocate for a few months a year? Do you want the flexibility to go out of network but close by? Or do you want to travel all over the country and be able to find in network physicians? Do you want to join a company that takes your service personally and feels like an advocate in our corner? Or do you prefer more of a self-service approach? There are lots of excellent options but only you can decide the fit that is right for you.
